Straight to his heart through his belly!

Tita Susan was sweet enough to remember that Toots was the only one in our family that eats “chocolate meat“. So after the kids soccer games (all 4 games) this afternoon, she handed Toots his own tupperware of “chocolate meat” aka Blood Stew or Dinuguan. If you’ve got a weak stomach, you might as well [...]

*Note to self

I should NEVER be allowed to use a pressure cooker without adult supervision or any kitchen appliance really….EVER You know, these ‘note to self’ moments seem to happen more often than not around here that I’ve decided to start my own Photo Notes, maybe I need visuals to help me out! PS. This picture makes [...]

Peanut Butter & Jelly?

Tasty #3 – Valentine's Day Dinner

Joyce and I really don’t like eating out on Valentine’s Day.  We both do not like traffics, long waits and crowded places.  So every year, I make it a point to cook dinner at home.  This year we decided to go all SEAFOOD.  After putting the kids to bed, I started cooking. It was pretty [...]

Tasty #2 – Sloppy Joe's

Since I actually enjoyed trying to cook something we’ve never cooked at home before, we’ve decided to try to whip up a dish we’ve never made at home at least once a week or so. We asked the kids what they wanted to eat that we never get to eat at (our) home, and Ethan [...]

Tasty #1 – “Milk Soup” (Kid tasted, Enzo approved!)

So after 8 years of asking Gemma (my cousin) for instructions on how to cook ‘Sopas’ (a filipino chicken  macaroni soup), I finally braved the kitchen and made some last night! It was soooo much easier than I had ever thought.  I was so proud to actually use ‘real’ food’ and nothing microwaved.  I was [...]

Just butter

One of Enzo’s favorite sandwich is the peanut butter sandwich.  The other day, he asked for  a ‘peanut butter bread without skin’. As he was munching away, he looks at me and points out that there’s no peanuts in his sandwich, its just butter!

Happy Hearts Day!

Every year (since we’ve been married) Toots has always made Valentine’s Dinner for us.  Neither of us really like to wait around with the “Valentine Date” crowd, so we usually wait till the week after to go out and celebrate. Usually we’ll get Ethan dinner and have him to go to bed early and then [...]

MmmmMMM…

I LOVE Thai Village!  Tim needs to open one up near mi casa!  I usually ALWAYS get the BBQ Ribs but I thought I’d be brave and try something else.  So I had the Garlic Short Rib (Tim suggested it over my usual) and man their portions are HUGE anyway, but it was sooooooooooooo mmmmmmmmm [...]

Barley Soup

We ate dinner at one of our really good friends house tonight and she made Barley Soup…yes sounds scary!  I’m definitely not as adventurous when it comes to food like Toots is, but the soup was YUM!!! Sherri had tons of stuff (mainly veggies) in it, and it was sooooo filling! I’ll have to get [...]
