I got this free book off the Amazon Kindle site. I honestly thought it would be a boring, old people book (whatever that means hehe), but i figured it’s free so it wouldn’t hurt to download just in case I changed my mind. I’m glad I did! I just started reading it and the first chapter focuses on freedom, slavery, and hindrance and also the verse:

Hebrews 12: 1
It means we’d better get on with it. Strip down, start running-and never quit! No extra spiritual fat, no parasitic sins.

Freedomslavery, and hindrance. I know we all know what those words mean but have you ever really looked up the dictionary definition?

SlaveryExcessive dependence on or devotion to something or someone (Google Dictionary)

Wow! This should be a good read…I’m looking forward to really diving into what God has to say about the freedom He has given us and what bondage/slavery to sin looks like in my life.

It’s so overwhelming to read up on diet alternatives for kids like Enzo. While there’s no guarantee it will help, alot of the stuff we’ve read seems to point that it helps with some of the symptoms/behaviors that SPD exhibit. He’s not autistic but SPD is on the same spectrum. And even tho he hasn’t ever been officially diagnosed with ADHD, that would not come as a surprise if he did.

So here we are…I’m terrified of the initial side effects or withdrawal symptoms that some kids get. Everywhere I’ve read says that these kids are ‘addicted’ to casein (dairy) and gluten just like a drug addict. They get the same natural ‘high’ that druggies get with their choice of drug, it says it’s the same effects people get when taking opiates. So withdrawal can be like detoxing from drugs.

That sounds sooooo extreme! Hopefully we don’t see anything drastic like that. I know the South Beach diet gives me the nastiest headaches and grouchiest moods….oh oh oh! Someone want offer to take Enzo home for a week or so while he detoxes from his food addiction??

I wanted to start the dairy/casein free today but we weren’t prepared for it. All we have in the fridge/pantry is cereal, milk and buttermilk waffles for breakfast. HA! That’s all dairy. oops we’ll have to try tomorrow. Although I have this crazy thing about starting on a Sunday or Monday…starting Tuesday is so…mid-week? and makes it feel so chaotic and not right…but yes that the OCD in me. hmm maybe I’ll benefit from the same diet! We’ll have to see…

It’s been a while since I’ve really taken the time to read, for reasons that are totally lame for a book nerd like me. No time is a big one, but the biggest excuse is my inability to pay attention to 1 book.

Reading ADD. ”SQUIRREL!

I get so excited about all these book I want to read, geniunely excited not like a fleeting moment type of excitement. I usually shove a book or 2 in my truck or my purse but of course that only last so long.

Thanks to my hubby, I got a new toy for my birthday and I can carry all the books I care to read all at the same time! Oh I’m so excited and so in love with my new toy that even Ethan is excited about reading again. I’ll have to take pix of my new toy when I get around to putting it down long enough to pick up my camera!

This book, however, is really good! I’m only 35% into the book (I know that because my new toy said so) but it’s so good I can’t put it down…do they have a movie based on this book?? This would have made such an awesome movie but I can’t watch what I’ve read and can’t read what I’ve watched…I’m weird that way  I know but it’s just not the same…

919510_1_ftc_dpI haven’t gotten to do much reading this year, which is really disappointing to me because I LOVE LOVE LOVE to read.  I’m probably one of the biggest book nerd you’ll ever meet.  My sister let me borrow this a while back and I’m just now getting around to reading it.

I’m only in the very early part of the book, and it’s definitely not what I thought it would be based on the title.  I like Marilyn Meberg tho, she’s funny!  (All the ladies from Women of Faith are hilarious, esp Patty Clairmont…you have to listen to her on an empty bladder)

Can’t wait to read the rest of this book, it’s really pushing me to look beyond what’s right in front of me when it comes to E and Enzo’s adoption.

Abbott and Costello

i’ve heard the name but i didn’t know who they were.  they are hilarious!!! i was reading my book (The Unusual Suspect by Stephen Baldwin) and it refers to it in one of the chapters.  I was cracking up!!!

You really need to check it out for yourself because it won’t make sense unless you’ve seen it or at least read the script (check it on the www.abbottandcostello.net) It’s really really funny tho…

It’s the “Who’s on First?” episode but Stephen Baldwin relates it lost ppl (mainly himself).  And how he just couldn’t under how ‘God’ was the answer to all his questions.  Just like in the comedy clip, it’s a play on words…Costello kept asking who’s on first base and Abbott kept telling him “Who’s” on first (that’s the guys name) but Costello couldn’t get it and they kept rambling back and forth because Costello wouldn’t settle for the answer he was being given….(i promise it’s alot funnier when you read it yourself)

Stephen Baldwin says that’s how Satan and the world has really blinded us; “God” has become just another word that ppl use when profanity flies out their mouth.  And “Jesus” is a word ppl use when they hit their finger with a hammer.  People just can’t see how God is THE answer because it has become another play on words…

I probably didn’t do that book (or that chapter) any justice by explaining it the way i did…its definitely a must read tho…

ps…i’m not done reading the book yet, just wanted to share that coz i’m still laughing at Abbott and Costello
